Murder at the Summer Feté
Book 📖 blurb 🎪
A fete worse than death…
After finding the killer of Lucy Roth six months ago, life has settled back to normal for bookshop owner, Nancy Hunter, and her grandmother, Jane. The annual Dedley End village fete is just around the corner, and Nancy is delighted when bestselling author, Thomas Green, agrees to launch his first new novel in ten years there.
But then a series of sinister events lead Nancy to realise someone is trying to sabotage their fete, so she, along with Jane and their journalist friend Jonathan, must turn detective to discover who isn’t at all thrilled about the return of Thomas Green.
When a body is discovered at the summer fete, the death scene mirroring that in Thomas’ latest bestseller, they realise that there’s another killer in Dedley End, but can they outsmart someone who appears to have pulled off the perfect crime?
The clues are right under Nancy and Jane’s noses, if only they can find them. Because the answers to life’s questions can always be found in a book…!

Love Blooms at Mermaids Point
Book 📖 blurb 🧜🏻♀️
Bestselling author Alex Nelson is slowly coming apart at the seams after a failed marriage and an abrupt change in career leave him at a crossroads in life. When an unexpected opportunity arises to escape to the idyllic village of Mermaids Point, he’s hot on the heels of his brother, Tom, who has recently moved there. Buying a rundown bookshop might be just his latest harebrained scheme, but Alex has never been one to do things by halves.
After spending her early years caring for her mother, Ivy Fisher is finally ready to start living her own life. But when the impossibly charming, impossibly good-looking Alex Nelson swoops in and snatches her dream out from under her nose, it really is the last straw. Forced by circumstances to spend more time with him, Ivy finally gets a peek of the real man beneath the confident exterior, and she likes what she sees.
But just when things are starting to come together for them, Ivy is reminded why men can never be trusted. Is Alex who he says he is, or is he using Mermaids Point as nothing more than research fodder for his next bestseller?

The Little Library on Cherry Lane
Book 📖 blurb 📚
The heart-warming new novel from the author of The Secrets of Meadow Farmhouse and The Perfect Christmas Gift. The ideal next read for fans of Cathy Bramley, Rachael Lucas and Heidi Swain!
Elsie Martin may lead a quiet life, but working in her beloved local library is enough to make her happy. After all, books have always been her armour against the world. So when the library is threatened with closure to make way for a new housing development, Elsie knows it has to be saved – and that, despite being painfully shy, she needs to lead the campaign to save it.
Jacob Yardley thinks he’s doing the right thing by building a new affordable housing development. Why shouldn’t local people be able to buy a house in the place they grew up? Having to leave his own small hometown broke his heart. Plus, people don’t really use libraries anymore, do they?
As Elsie and Jacob clash over the future of the library, sparks begin to fly. Jacob is falling back in love with books and libraries – could he possibly be falling for her too? And will Elsie be able to save the library that means so much to her?

Set in a beautiful community, it was easy to get yourself emotionally attached to many of the characters.

I’m such a hopeless romantic. If you were to look up the definition of hopeless romantic I’m pretty sure my name would be listed there as an example! ☺️
Growing up, my mum would often say that I wore my heart on my sleeve, that I was always eager to find and share love. This behaviour has never changed! I still embrace the concept of love ❤️ So this blog is a little bit of what love means to me and how love changed my life in many ways.
Anyone who knows me, knows how much I adore romance, be it in books or movies. It’s my happy place! I can happily rewatch favourite movies, soaking in all the awwwww moments as if I’m seeing them for the very first time! My husband is resolved to my watching them over and over again, he knows that I love to get my fix of romance 💕 and of course I’m a complete addict to romance books too! 📚
My own life could actually have been a possible story for a Heidi Swain style book, as my first love certainly didn’t run a very smooth path, and a happy ever after it certainly wasn’t, however it did lead me to the place that I am in now and ultimately gave me the longed for complete love, which brings me joy and happiness every day ♥️
From the darkness of a failed relationship, the love of a friend not only reached out to support me when I felt most alone, it also gave me the confidence to start again. It would have been easy to give up on love, to become bitter and cynical about love, but his belief in me as a person helped me to begin to love myself. Our love as friends blossomed over the years, until we crossed that difficult junction where friends become lovers, and it was a scary jump to take, we valued our friendship so highly, the fear of loosing it if things hadn’t worked out was ever present and we did have a few wobbly moments along the way, however I honestly believe our partnership was simply meant to be. Years of friendship ( we met at 16 years old at sixth form) the traumatic relationship with my ex all brought us here, married with our two boys. It was difficult, living through those dark times, however it eventually brought me my happy ever after. It’s actually amazing to be married to your best friend. So a romance that actually started off as hopeless became perfect in the end, once I found my knight in shining armour (and had ditched the twonk in tinfoil!) I’m blessed for sure and am incredibly grateful for having the courage to look for love again.
As well as embracing romantic love, I also treasure the other types of love too. The love of my family and friends. I appreciate having so many amazing people in my life, and I hope they all realise how loved they are by me 💜
I don’t think I will ever tire of love! It’s part and parcel of me, I surround myself with it daily, and I share it readily too. Love is best shared in my opinion. By sharing it grows and brings us together in a positive way. In the last two difficult years, isolated from loved ones by distance, love still kept us together, by phone calls, messages and letters – love still found a way to bring us together and kept us connected 💖
This group, Heidi Swain and Friends, was brought about as a result of love. The love of reading started it, closely followed by the love of sharing time with friends that we made in here. Fiona has created an amazing community with her idea, almost two years ago. And I’m sure everyone agrees that we love her for it! Thanks again for setting up such a lovely place to meet up with friends and to share our love of reading 📖
Finally , on this Valentine’s Day I would like to send my love to you all ♥️ Thanks for your love and friendship, may love always lift us up where we belong!
Remembering my mum on her birthday 💕
Wishing you much love today dear mum,
This poem is to say thanks for all that you’ve done,
For all the care that you have given to me,
You made my childhood the best it could be.
It was filled with happy times and lots of fun,
A host of lovely memories, it has become,
Remember the rat that I wouldn’t let go,
Playing with my brothers, out in the snow,
Holidays at the beach, swimming all day long,
Looking out for me, you taught right from wrong,
The rag doll you made, with love for Christmas Day,
The knicker-less dance around that pole in May!
You gave me the gift, to love to read,
Your dedication has taught me to succeed,
Now I’m a mum too, I hope I will be,
As wonderful and patient as you were with me.
Floating feathery flakes of snow falling down,
A mesmerising sight as they swirl all around,
The satisfying crunch of newly laid snow,
Beneath your boots, when outside you go,
To explore this new winter wonderland place,
Smelling the crisp air, snow falls like fine lace,
Tasting a snowflake, landed on a hot tongue,
Reminds you of winters when you were young,
That tingling ache from touching the snow,
The icy winds that made your nose all a glow.
The sense of wonder that snow can still bring,
Lifts up souls and makes hearts start to sing.
No longer a child, yet the excitement is there,
Longing for snowstorms to happen this year.

2021 has been a funny old year, it certainly had its difficulties, so it would be only too easy to dwell on the negative things that we lived through, however there were many things that happened that were simply wonderful, so I am going to concentrate on those special moments!
Firstly I am still completely ecstatic with how our fantastic book group has grown and evolved since it’s creation back in April 2020. The brain child of Fiona, it has just become such an important and special part of my life. It was started during those first few dark weeks of the original lockdown, set up to bring readers together to chat about all things Heidi Swain and it has just grown into this gorgeous friendly environment, where friendships have began and prospered. It’s also where we get to hold our publication day parties, to introduce the new books from our resident group authors ( very early on Heidi decided to add the ‘and friends’ part to the group, to share her space with other authors, because you know, sharing is caring! And Heidi is one of the most supportive people that I know ❤️) This past year we have celebrated with 20 parties 🎉 and we have had so much fun along the way! We are looking forward to next years celebrations 🍾, and as I write this the first one is being prepared for already! 🎈🎉
Another highlight was having Underneath the Christmas Tree dedicated to Fiona and I. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever imagined this to happen! Several months later and I’m still pinching myself!
In August after over a year of collaboration, I finally got to meet up with my spiritual sister! I can’t tell you how special it felt to hug Fiona (and Heidi) it’s a day that I won’t forget in a hurry! It was a mad dash across Norwich, in the pouring rain with my stupid phone directions sending me around in circles but I arrived at the cathedral exactly at the same time as the others, serendipitous as always!
Throughout the year lots of my lovely author friends have included me in their acknowledgments, and for these I am always so grateful. I love being part of the background team, supporting authors with early reads and reviews and celebrating their releases. It’s something that I will never grow tired from doing! Sharing the book love 💕 is part of my life now!
I’m so incredibly fortunate to have received lots of signed books too this year, some from America 🇺🇸 and Australia 🇦🇺 I treasure these so much ❤️
And finally Fiona gifted me this blog, and has encouraged me every step of the way. Heidi too is encouraging me to journal 📓 I’m not quite sure how (or why) these beautiful, kind and thoughtful women came into my life but I’m eternally grateful for the twist of fate that sent them my way! A whole host of wonderful friends from the group are now part of my life (Swainettes forever 💕) and it’s all down to that serendipitous moment when I commented on a Heidi Swain post almost two years ago! 💙
So Happy New Year 🥳 and here’s to more bookish fun and games in the coming months. I hope your shelves are always full of fantastic books, your hearts are filled with friendships and love and that joy is always in your lives 💚
